Flavor Flav's Eatery Shut: Rapper's Chicken & Ribs Restaurant Closes in Detroit
Flavor Flav's BBQ restaurant has officially closed.
The Public Enemy rapper, also known as William J. Drayton, received the devastating news this week.
According to SPIN , Flav's last remaining Flavor Flav's Chicken & Ribs food joint was evicted from its location in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights because his business partners weren't paying rent.
The restaurant was first evicted in June, but a motion of stay was filed in court to temporarily stop the closure from happening, allowing the restaurant to reopen for several weeks.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was forced to close again, TMZ reported.
The restaurant served everything from BBQ ribs to Belgian waffles to buffalo wings.
Flavor Flav claims the BBQ joint will re-open. He posted on his business' Facebook page: "Don't Believe All That Hype Out There Folks..We Are Not Going Anywhere! In Fact We Are Having Visitors Next Week!! LL Cool J/Ice Cube/Flavor Flav W/His Group Public Enemy & De La Soul Will Be Coming Right Here!!!"
On Friday, the rapper returned to the restaurant's Facebook page to affirm that everything was fine: "No worries we are relocating!!! Stay tuned for our official announcement later this evening!!!"
No word on the exact location of the restaurant.
Flav's luck with restaurants has not been good. His previous two, Flav's Fried Chicken in Iowa and House of Flavor in Las Vegas, both closed within six months of opening.
