Aaron Hernandez is reportedly being investigated for multiple shootings in Florida from his days as a college star with the state's Gators football team.

Hernandez has already been charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd and could also be arraigned in connection with the July 2012 deaths of two men in Boston. The Florida investigation is just the latest in a string of homicides being linked to the former New England Patriot.

"Sources: more charges could be filed out of FL against Aaron ‪#Hernandez in coming days," George Colli, a reporter for Hartford, Conn, television station WVIT, tweeted on Monday.

Hernandez and other players on the University of Florida football team were questioned in a double homicide in Gainesville in 2007, when the 23-year-old was a freshman. Charges were never brought against him and the case remains open, according to the report.

The Gainesville Police Department tweeted Monday that it has already released all of the information it has on Hernandez, and any new information about charges stemming from the Florida shooting did do not come from their division.

"Aaron ‪#Hernandez RUMOR CONTROL: Reports of any new charges are not from GPD. We have previously released any and all records we have," read a tweet from the department's Twitter account on Monday.

The announcement came on the same day that police searched a lake in Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, Conn., in search of the murder weapon used in the shooting death of Lloyd. Police crews combed the waters of Pine Lake on Monday hoping to find the .45 caliber Glock used in Lloyd's murder after they received a tip that the handgun may have been tossed into the water.

It was the second week in a row that Massachusetts police visited Connecticut. On the first trip they executed several search warrants in Bristol homes associated with Hernandez and his acquaintances Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, whom investigators say were with Hernandez when Lloyd was killed.
