Linda Evangelista ‘Can’t Live In Shame’; Supermodel Candidly Shares Botched ‘Nightmare’ Cosmetic Procedure
Linda Evangelista bravely stepped out of her comfort zone after reportedly being left "brutally disfigured" after undergoing a cosmetic procedure that changed her life forever.
Speaking in a cover story published by People Magazine, the 56-year-old supermodel candidly posed to the camera and flaunted the horrifying procedure-gone-wrong.
Since Evangelista worked in the modeling industry for decades, she noted how she loved walking down the runway. But since she underwent the procedure, she dreaded running into someone she was familiar with.
The reason why the model is speaking out about her experience is that she "can't live like this anymore, in hiding and shame."
"I just couldn't live in this pain any longer," she added.
Speaking about her cosmetic procedure, Evangelista alleged that CoolSculpting, a fat-freezing non-surgical procedure, is the culprit behind her disfigured appearance.
After going through several sessions from August 2015 to February 2016, the model claims that her fat cells "increased, not decreased."
The areas she wanted to appear slimmer started getting bigger and harder.
In the photos, Evangelista, who walked for iconic brands like Chanel, Azzedine Alaïa, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and many more, bravely showed her chin, thighs, and chest, which have been affected by CoolSculpting.
The incident left her devastated to the point she "wasn't eating at all," and she thought she had lost her mind.
A few months after the procedure, the aftermath took a toll on her health as she was diagnosed with paradoxical adipose hyperplasia.
She was told that no amount of diet change and fitness exercise would ever fix her current condition.
According to Page Six, Evangelista is going through a legal battle as she filed a lawsuit against CoolSculpting.
The model sued the company for $50 million in damages. Evangelista claims CoolSculpting did not tell the "risks" of getting the procedure, and she wasn't able to work because of her physical appearance.
"PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing. In the process, I have become a recluse," she wrote on Instagram in September 2021.
