Kanye West, Soulja Boy Buried the Hatchet? Latter Reveals Friendship Status Amid Issue
Despite getting embroiled in a drama over the past few months, Soulja Boy recently set the record straight about the actual status of his friendship with Kanye West; are they good friends now?
According to Fox Bangor, the rapper confirmed that he and the "Donda" hitmaker are cool even after shading the latter in a previous interview. He mentioned Kim Kardashian's new relationship with Pete Davidson.
Soulja Boy recently took to his Instagram stories to share a brief statement, saying their beef in the past are "just a [little] friendly jokes and fun."
The rapper clarified he has nothing against the Yeezy founder.
"We spoke, [we're going to] figure it out, [we're] both two smart individuals chasing our dreams," he noted.
The "She Make It Clap" hitmaker also clarified that they might act crazy sometimes, but they know what they're doing, and fans shouldn't confuse them for sharing love.
The latest reconciliation comes a few days after Soulja Boy taunted his collaborator over Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's romance.
The rapper posted a video, seemingly giving West a lecture by asking if he's going to continue posting memes or "going to lay the smackdown."
In August, the two artists' feud started when West released his critically-acclaimed "Donda" album where Soulja Boy's verse was not included.
Following this, the rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, then called out West online by sharing screenshots of their conversation.
"This ***** Kanye smh, Tell homie dont hit my phone no more," he wrote.
West appears to hype his collaborator for their song in "Donda." However, the music did not make it to the final cut, and the former said its release was out of his permission.
Soulja Boy didn't stop there as he continued to fire shots against West; he further labeled the rapper "lame" for running as the president of the United States.
He also mentioned that the Yeezy founder needs help after reaching out to him to collaborate on his album.
"If he didn't like the verse he should of said that don't text me acting like u **** wit it then secretly take it off," he wrote.
In the end, the song was released in "Donda," but Soulja Boy's verse was not included.
