What Happened to Billie Eilish? Singer Confuses Followers Over Unrecognizable Look
Despite being in the industry for only less than a decade, Billie Eilish has sealed herself as one of the most iconic style icons known today. From her hairstyles and fashion sense, the young artist is known for switching things up every once in a while.
More recently, the 20-year-old songstress shocked fans when she debuted a new look on her Instagram account to the point that she confused some of her followers.
Eilish shared a mirror selfie of herself wearing a black latex headscarf and a pair of long gloves. The singer appears to be in a dressing room, working on an undisclosed project.
The "When We Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?" songwriter captioned the post with a spark emoji.
Following this, many fans took to the comment section to express their confusion on who the woman in the picture is.
"WHO IS THIS? WHERE IS BILLIE?" one fan wrote.
"Billie???!!! I thought she was someone else!!!!" another fan wrote with a shocked emoji.
Another follower made a mistake as they thought it was another singer at first, writing, "Wait, I thought this is is miss [Charli] XCX. I know something iconic is coming."
Billie Eilish as a Style Chameleon
According to Cosmopolitan Magazine, the Grammy Award-winning singer is known for being a "style chameleon" as she changes her style dramatically.
Eilish is known for her dark blue hairstyle and baggy outfits throughout her early years. She then transitioned into a darker look by dying her roots neon green and the rest of her hair black.
Last year, many fans rejoiced as the singer broke free from her dark side and embraced her femininity by going blonde and even wearing lingerie in a feature for British Vogue.
In an interview with Elle Magazine, Eilish opened up about the actual reason why she decided to ditch her dark hair, saying she wanted to blend in with the crowd.
"I couldn't go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity," the "Bad Guy" hitmaker said. (via Teen Vogue)
She then recalled when she was hanging out in a park with a friend who wanted her to remove her hood after changing her hair, but she was terrified of "the paparazzi and stalkers."
The singer then had the guts to remove it, and she "felt like a new person."
