George Zimmerman was stopped for speeding in Texas on Sunday and he revealed to the police officer that there was a firearm in the glove compartment of his truck.

Zimmerman was driving through Forney, Texas on Sunday, before being stopped by police, according to TMZ. He told the police officer that he was going "nowhere in particular," and then revealed he had a gun in the truck. The officer let him off with just a warning after he ran a routine background check and discovered the 29-year-old didn't have any warrants out for his arrest. Law enforcement told TMZ that Zimmerman wasn't wearing any sort of disguise, in light of the public's outrage due to his acquittal on all charges in the death of Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman also made news, unrelated to his second-degree murder case, when he helped rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle on July 18. Zimmerman was one of two men who assisted Dana and Mark Gerstle and their two children, escape a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fl. By the time police arrived on the scene, Zimmerman had already helped free the family from the vehicle.
