Britney Spears' Instagram account vanished mysteriously on March 16, and as expected, her followers reacted angrily on Twitter.

Many are wondering if the star, who had her fair share of troll comments on the platform, decided to do this herself. Some however, think she could also have been banned or some third person is responsible for this mysterious vanishing of her account.

Britney Spears, 40, seems to be refraining from discussing anything about her personal life for the time being. That's because the renowned pop star's Instagram account was abruptly deleted on March 16. Britney's profile, which had millions of followers and featured images/videos of her wearing fashionable ensembles, spending time with fiancé Sam Asghari, and more, has been completely deleted.

It is unknown whether Britney deactivated the account herself or was removed from the social media network by Instagram. It's also plausible that a third party was involved in Britney's Instagram disappearance.

Britney's ardent admirers, who played a role in the end of her conservatorship in November 2021, are both perplexed and upset that the "Toxic" vocalist has taken a hiatus from Instagram for an unknown period of time.

"@britneyspears don't leave Instagram," one fan tweeted, while another said, "britney spears deleted her instagram my life is over."

More fans directly tweeted to Britney and lamented over the fact that they can no longer access her IG account. It is known that the superstar is more active on IG than on her Twitter.

It's highly possible that this was a deliberate act on her part. It is not the first time that she removed her social media, after all.

Britney has deactivated her Instagram account previously. Her Instagram account was deleted on September 14, just two days after she announced her engagement to Sam, 28.

Britney later clarified on Twitter that she is "just taking a break from social media to enjoy" her engagement. She even asked fans not to be alarmed because she will return shortly - which she did.

Britney Spears has utilized social media to share happy events in her life. But she's also chastised her estranged relatives on Instagram for their role in the contentious conservatorship that dominated her life for 13 years.

For instance, when Brit visited Vegas recently, she explained the "big contrast" between visiting Sin City post-conservatorship and without her loved ones.

"I don't have to entertain my family anymore and be their puppet," the singer - who is no longer on good terms with dad Jamie, mom Lynne, and sister Jamie-Lynn - shared in IG, deleted even before this deactivationt. Brit also cited the "spas," "alcohol," and more as reasons for why it "was absolutely lovely being treated like an equal in Las Vegas for the first time in 13 years.." she added.
