Kanye West Bringing Kids To Space To Make The Experience 'As Unique As Possible'
Kanye West met with Elon Musk about a prospective rocket launch after Pete Davidson will not be joining Jeff Bezos' next Blue Origin voyage to space.
A source told Hollywood Life that the 44-year-old "Donda" rapper has initiated his own plans to send him and his children North, 9, Saint, 8, Chicago, 4, and Saint, 2, into space.
The proposal was apparently made amid his custody fight with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson, who just dropped out of the space trip.
According to the source, Kanye, who officially changed his name to Ye, discussed a rocket launch with Elon Musk of Space X.
They've talked about it, but there's no word on when they'll actually do it.
"They are friends who chat about everything, but they don't have set plans to go together, despite having discussed it," the insider continued.
Only a few days ago, the "Saturday Night Live" actor canceled his mission aboard Blue Origin after the flight was rescheduled. It was originally scheduled on March 23 but was rescheduled.
The "Gold Digger" rapper isn't jealous of Pete going to space, according to the source, but if he is, Kanye doesn't want to appear to be emulating his ex-lover's wife.
In fact, if his Space X mission goes forward, the father-of-four would apparently perform or do something special, with an insider mentioning a "listening party in space."
Kanye would also like to include his four children in the journey by taking them to space.
According to the source, the Yeezy designer wishes to make this experience as one-of-a-kind as possible, rather than limiting it to a ten-minute trip. They also stated that there would be no competition with the comedian.
Is Kim Kardashian going to space as well?
According to the same source, while she thinks it would be amazing and exciting to go to space, she is apparently remaining out of the space race for the time being because she is a mother of four children.
"She refuses because she is incredibly superstitious and would never want anything to go wrong."
When it was announced that Pete Davidson would not be joining the NS-20 team, Kanye West fans instantly flocked to social media to demand him to be the squad's sixth member.
Marty Allen and Dr. George Nield are among the passengers aboard the tiny space capsule.
