J.K Rowling Accused of Being Petty For Correcting Hardworking Police's Spelling

J.K. Rowling is continuously rubbing people the wrong way. After some homophic tweets a while back, she now took the time to make a spelling correction on the police department's tweet and people cannot believe this was done out of pure intentions.
She's accused of being a low-blow, especially since the tweet is about helping the LGBTQ community,.
After a homophobic murder that took place in Cardiff last year, the South Wales police tweeted that they are on the case and other similar instances for no other reason but because they want to help. Their tweet however, had a misspelled word, which Rowling cannot just let go.
When the cops mistook virtue signaling for "virtual signaling," the 56-year-old best-selling children's novelist actually made fun of them instead of making a simple call out. When Rowling pointed out the gaffe to her 13.9 million Twitter followers in a sarcastic way, social media users were naturally outraged.
Virtual signalling. Like virtue signalling, but for people who aren’t really arsed. #VirtualSignalling pic.twitter.com/HPmRVN1rRA

"Like virtue signalling, but for people who aren't really a***d," she wrote.
According to the Welsh police, they have been doing outreach to the LGBT+ community near the scene of a homophobic hate crime.
Social media users raced to the comments section after Rowling's tweet to express their thoughts on it.
"I don't want to assume that this tweet is as badly motivated as it seems, so could you clarify that you're not actually mocking the police for promoting the safety of the LGBT community in an area where a man was recently homophobically murdered," one wrote. "As a writer, do you do any research or is it just whatever falls out of your head first?," another said.

It is apparent that gone are the days when the author is positively viewed all the time, with "Harry Potter" fans thinking she can never do wrong because her books got them to read and appreciate literature.
Still, she did have some fans came to her defenses. "And how would she have known about the link to the Bute Park incident from the initial tweet? She was responding to it at face value like most of us do! As always people are using 'reaching' techniques to concoct faux outrage." (sic) The commenter however, was met with many replies, with some pointing out the context of Rowling's tweet.
Some said it's just suspicious that Rowling decided to comment one the police's spelling on a tweet defending their appreciation of the LGBT+ community, intentional or not.
Rowling has repeatedly denied being homophobic despite her online behaviors.
