Meghan Markle's New Job Is Empowering Women - Former Duchess Is Launching Podcast To Break Down Female Stereotypes
Meghan Markle: the boxes women are put in
We'll let Markle take the explanation from here: Here's what she said in the podcast's teaser trailer.
"This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us...but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives? This is Archetypes - the podcast where we dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back. I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place."
Markle, and her guests, will work to uncover the origins of these labels, and hopefully dismantle them to help allow women to lead more full, unconstrained lives.
This is definitely a podcast that makes sense for Markle; after years of trying to find her niche as an actress, then immediately being whisked away into the royal family and trying to fit in there, she's been asked to fit into roles and play parts for basically her entire adult life. And after doing the unthinkable and leaving the royal family - and taking her princes with her - there are few in a better position than her to take on the task of busting down some of these other stereotypes.
Archetypes, produced by Archewell Studios, will launch sometime later this year.
