Raquel Leviss Makes Risky Move On Dating Scene Split From James Kennedy: ‘It’s Scary’
Raquel Leviss finally got the courage to open her heart to someone again after her scary split from James Kennedy.
After Leviss had to let go of Kennedy, she confirmed that she is back on the dating scene after going through the "scary but invigorating" experience.
In the latest episode of the "You're Gonna Love Me" podcast, the 27-year-old "Vanderpump Rules" actress told Katie Maloney that she just went out for drinks with Peter Madrigal.
"It was just a fun little time. I figured this would be a good opportunity for me to just get back out into the dating world because I haven't had an official date since the breakup," she said, as reported by Page Six.
Leviss detailed that Madrigal asked her to have drinks with him and ultimately responded "yes" to the invitation.
Despite that, Leviss told Maloney and fans not to assume anything yet since it was just a friendly date. She noted that no one else had asked her on a date since her last relationship, so she pushed herself to try again.
In the end, she described the experience as "scary but invigorating."
What Went Wrong Between Raquel Leviss, James Kennedy?
Leviss first started dating Kennedy in 2016, five years before the British-born popped the question in May. They made their relationship public official during the Season 9 reunion of "Vanderpump Rules."
However, they decided to break up six months later due to the COVID-19 restrictions. She told Andy Cohen that she and Kennedy did not have any intercourse for two years before their breakup.
"It's been something that I've been thinking about for a while, and I think that James has noticed my heart hasn't been fully in it," she said.
Cohen asked her at that time whether she was the one who initiated the split, to which Leviss confessed that they both decided to part ways. She said that she had been having nightmares about the wedding.
Although she did not want to give up on Kennedy since he had been dedicated to her, they had to end things between them.
While Leviss remains single, Kennedy has since moved on with Ally Lewber. They made their relationship red carpet official at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, months after meeting at a concert by Tom Sandoval's cover band, The Most Extras, in January.
