Alexander Skarsgard Almost Hit Greta Thunberg With Bike During Activist's Protest
Alexander Skarsgard recently revealed that he almost hurt Greta Thunberg with his bike when she was protesting in Sweden.
Thunberg, who has been known for being an activist since she began protesting years ago, gained recognition for urging leaders to help them address the current climate crisis. But during one of her protests, Skarsgard reportedly almost hurt her while the actor was riding his bike.
The "Big Little Lies" actor recently detailed what happened at that time in an interview with The Times (via New York Post), saying that he almost hit the 19-year-old climate activist while she was protesting in Stockholm, Sweden.
"I nearly ran over Greta Thunberg. She's how we sell our country now. And I almost hit her with my bike. Greta is like a modern-day Viking and, like Greta, the Vikings refused to fly," he said.
The latter statement was a nod to his latest role in "The Northman," which will premiere on April 15. Despite comparing Thunberg to Vikings that "do not fly," the young activist actually travels via air to attend her global events.
Alexander Skarsgard Not Being Taken Seriously Because of His Looks
Aside from talking about the incident with Thunberg, the actor also disclosed how he was never taken seriously as an actor due to his looks.
During the same interview, he detailed how he made it on the "Sexy Hunky Hot List" after his first job. From there, people reportedly no longer took him seriously.
"If you want characters with depth but have been labeled 'a dude who takes his shirt off,' you're not going to get those offers," he said, as quoted by Yahoo!.
Indeed, he has been named Sweden's Sexiest Man Alive five consecutive times. Despite that, he reportedly started questioning why he was in the industry in the first place.
After finally embracing his career, he landed several roles in different flicks. Most recently, he collaborated with Robert Eggers for the upcoming epic, "The Northman," where he would reportedly show a new physical transformation to the public.
Skarsgard previously explained to Total Film that "The Northman" was physically and mentally the most challenging job he had yet. Despite that, it was also the most rewarding since it served as his waking-up moment and humbling experience.
