Prince Charles' Take on Prince Andrew's Recent Royal Outing 'Irritates' The Queen
Queen Elizabeth II is unconcerned by Prince Charles' reaction to Prince Andrew's attendance at Prince Philip's funeral service last week.
According to an US magazine insider, the future King and his 95-year-old mother clashed over whether the Duke of York should attend their late father's memorial after resolving his sexual assault claim just recently.
Her Majesty, on the other hand, apparently did not want or need Prince Charles' advice on the matter.
In fact, Queen Elizabeth II is said to be "irritated" with the Prince of Wales for expressing an opinion that was not even sought.
The father-of-two stated his opposition to his disgraced brother attending the rest of the royal family members, even at the Service of Thanksgiving.
The Queen, according to reports, did not need his future son "directing her on how to manage" the incident.
On March 29, the Duke of York was present for his father's memorial, but he was also in the spotlight, leading his mother from Windsor Castle to Westminster Abbey.
Princess Anne and Prince Edward were also in attendance, although in a low-key capacity.
Many people were taken aback by Prince Andrew's attendance, given his recent fall from grace after it was revealed he had connections with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his sexual assault lawsuit, in which accuser Virginia Giuffre claimed she was trafficked by the late financier and forced to perform intercourse with the Duke of York on three separate occasions when she was only a minor.
However, when the disgraced prince stepped down from his royal responsibilities in 2019, he denied the charges in an interview with the BBC, despite evidence showing he and Virginia met.
"I have absolutely no recall of ever meeting this person."
"It never occurred," the prince stated in a BBC interview.
While the matter was concluded two months ago, with Prince Andrew allegedly paying an estimated $16 million settlement, he apparently has a long way to go if he ever hopes to re-enter the royal family's good graces.
After his mother stripped him of his royal patronages and military titles after the controversy surfaced, he apparently intends to reclaim parts of his royal obligations. Unfortunately, top royal members are said to be doing all they can to prevent this from occurring.
Buckingham Palace had remained silent during Prince Andrew's whole issue, with the exception of declaring in January that his HRH titles had been revoked.
