Sorry Tom Cruise: Real Reason Princess Diana Stopped 'Crushing' On Him Revealed
Princess Diana apparently had a huge crush on Tom Cruise.
Her former official chef, Darren McGrady, told The Royal Observerthat the action movie actor was definitely a source of fascination for the late royal.
Princess Diana did, however, become disinterested in him after learning something about him.
McGrady remembers the Princess of Wales bringing her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to the set of "Mission Impossible" and introducing them to Cruise.
"The pyrotechnics were a hit with the guys," according to the chef, "but Princess Diana said, 'That's another one off the list, Darren."
Accord to McGrady, the People's Princess was displeased with the fact that Cruise was "too short" in height.
Following her first encounter with the action star, who is at 5 feet 7 inches tall, Princess Diana's feelings for Tom Cruise were entirely destroyed. After all, the late royal was 5 feet 10 inches.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana's turbulent marriage, which happened years after their royal wedding in 1981, served to worsen Princess Diana's love life during this time period.
This was especially true in the case of the Prince of Wales' affair with his now wife Camilla Parker Bowles, which played a significant role in the breakdown of their marriage. In 1989, the late royal confronted the now-Duchess of Cornwall to express her feelings about her marriage to the Duke of Cornwall.
In the documentary's secret recordings, "So we sat down, and I was afraid of her," Princess Diana may be heard saying it in "Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words."
"And I told her, 'I know what's going on between you and Charles."
"The woman said to me, 'You have everything you've ever wanted.' I was speechless. 'You've got all the men on the planet falling head over heels in love with you, and you've got two beautiful children; what more could you want for?'"
Princess Diana's statement to Camilla is believed to have stated that she wanted her husband and that she should not treat her like an idiot.
Andrew Morton's taped confessions were used as the basis for a book written by Princess Diana, which was published some years after their divorce.
Her book, "Her True Story," described all that happened behind closed doors in her marriage to the future King, despite the public image that they were able to present for many years.
They were officially divorced by 1996, and the cherished queen was killed in a tragic vehicle accident in France with her then-boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed, not long after.
