[VIDEO] Amber Heard ‘Fake Crying’ While Recalling Johnny Depp’s Abusive Behavior
Amber Heard took the stand in the defamation trial for the first time, but she only got people's attention for the wrong reasons.
On Wednesday, Heard stood in the court to deliver her first-ever testimony in the civil trial.
She became more emotional as she recalled the first time Depp abused her. Per Heard, they were having a normal conversation early in their relationship when she asked him about the tattoo on his arm that was hard to read.
The actor then explained it to her, but she set him off when she laughed. The actor slapped her while she was still laughing, then his hand moved again as he called her a "funny b-tch."
As she recalled the moment, she began crying while looking at the jury.
Her statement caught people's attention online - but they offered an unexpected reaction instead.
Amber Heard "Fake Crying" Inside the Court?
Amid her statements, internet users and Depp's supporters immediately took their reactions to Twitter, accusing the "Aquaman" actress of only making crying sounds but never shedding a tear.
Some also insisted that her story sounded unreal, like a script rather than a real account of abuse.
One said, "I have never seen DV victim recant a story so perfectly. It does not happen. People often dont remember traumatic things that perfectly."
The amount of negative reactions from the public recently caused Heard to fire her PR team.
New York Post revealed that a source informed them how "frustrated" the actress is since her story is not being told effectively. She has also been a subject of bad headlines since the trial began last month.
After firing crisis management specialists Precision Strategies, she is said to have tapped CEO David Shane's Shane Communications as a replacement. They previously worked against Depp when they represented the actor's former business managers, The Management Group.
Heard also made a move after the petition to remove her from "Aquaman 2" grew faster since the petition began. It even earned one million signatures within four days since Depp took the stand.
Fans started the petition in pursuit of making DC Entertainment ax the actress from the franchise as her op-ed in 2018, which is the root cause of the defamation trial, led Depp to lose his roles in "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Fantastic Beasts" franchises.
