Did Johnny Depp find a new love and start dating one of his lawyers amid the defamation trial?

Viewers have to wait until May 16 before the legal showdown between Depp and Amber Heard resumes. But the current free time allows fans to focus on the speculations about the actor's new romance with his lawyer, Camille Vasquez.

Several TikTok and Twitter users assumed that Depp and Vasquez are in a relationship due to their intimate interactions in the court. They also look comfortable around each other, that the trial's livestream also recorded them getting touchy in the past few days.

Despite fans' approval over their potential relationship, sources set the record straight and revealed to a news outlet that Depp and Vasquez only have a professional relationship and friendship.

Insiders close to the lawyer also said that Vasquez finds Depp funny, laughing and smiling at his jokes most of the time.

Having a relationship is also impossible since she is actually dating a British real estate professional for months.

Johnny Depp, Lawyers at an Advantage Amid Week-Long Break

As Depp and Heard rest for this week, experts weighed in and suggested that the break gives the actor's lawyer an edge to plan their cross-examination of her.

In a new article shared by The New York Post, several experts said that the break is a gift to Depp's lawyers. But at the same time, Heard's team could also have a boost due to her testimony.

According to family law and divorce attorney Sandra Radna, there is nothing Depp and his lawyers could do as they already sat in front of the jurors.

However, expert trial consultant Jill Huntley Taylor said that the break would definitely allow the actor's legal team to meticulously prepare for the cross-examination to ensure his victory. With that, Depp has a strategic advantage this time.

California entertainment lawyer Mitra Ahouraian agreed to Taylor's statement, saying that Depp's attorneys would spend the week finding things to ask Heard that would bring her down and discredit her testimony.

"Johnny's team is going to be pivoting based on what they heard in her testimony," Ahouraian said.

A source close to Depp also has the same sentiment since the "Aquaman" actress would be cross-examined in the next few days.

Depp is suing his ex-wife in the $50 million defamation lawsuit over 2018 The Washington Post op-ed she wrote in which she claimed she had been a victim of domestic abuse. The actor was not named in the article, but he said it led him to lose his movie roles and projects.
