Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is now facing extreme security issues after a police report revealed shocking information about her and her family's safety issues.

Long before Kate married Prince William, she and the other "royal girlfriends" faced safety and security issues. Although she has been part of the royal family for years, the duchess suffers more as it has already reached the "highest danger level."

Speaking with OK!, royal expert Duncan Larcombe revealed that Kate and the Cambridge family have been facing constant threats. He noted that a recent police report recorded over 170 stalkers who are after the royal family.

"Kate's children's protection is a constant worry for her, but she has to have faith that they have these expert police officers. Over the years they have altered and upped the security. After the 7/7 bombings in London, the number of protection officers looking after William almost doubled, so they do monitor the threat constantly," he said, as quoted by Express.

The royal family takes security issues seriously. The recent event even made Larcombe recall the incident when Prince William and Kate were on a tour. At that time, protection officers reportedly got concerned due to a guy who was not part of the press.

However, the level of protection was never known to the public as many of these protecting instances constantly go unseen.

With that, royal fans are sure that the monarchy takes extra careful by having more security whenever royals walk down the street.

Ten out of the 170 cases posed high levels of danger. Meanwhile, 128 of which are moderate risk, and 32 are low risk.

Kate Experienced the Same Before Royal Wedding

In the 2000s, the Duchess of Cambridge first felt the suffocating effect of being a royal girlfriend. The high-security risk even made Prince William install a panic button in her apartment.

According to Tina Brown's book "The Palace Papers," the panic button was connected to the local police.

At that time, Kate had not received official protection from the Palace yet since she was not yet married to the Duke. Still, Prince Charles' former communications director, Paddy Harverson, said that they would often interfere unofficially.

"In keeping with her character, Kate's requests for his intervention were rare and always began with the words 'I don't want to make a fuss, but..." Brown writes, per Insider. "William reportedly arranged for a panic button to the local police station to be installed in her apartment to protect her from the constant threats of intrusion."
