Jim Duggan Drops Shocking Update About Cancer: Is Ex-WWE Star’s Health Getting Worse?
Jim Duggan, who is known as Hacksaw in WWE, is suffering from a dreaded disease after surviving it last year.
Duggan shocked his fans with the news about cancer returning to his life again. In a new post on his Instagram page, the wrestler revealed that he would restart his treatment against cancer this week.
He also confirmed his scheduled radiotherapy on Tuesday, and the treatment would continue for eight weeks. Amid his cancer battle, Duggan has been sharing photos and videos of his family's travels with his fans.
"But reality is here, and I'm afraid I have some bad news. It seems like my cancer treatment is not over, even after the removal of my prostate last October. Tomorrow, I'm having my second hormone shot and Tuesday I'm being set up for radiation treatment, which will be eight weeks, five days a week," he said.
Despite the bad news, he shared a positive detail about his prognosis, saying that his doctors are optimistic that they detected his health issue early.
Still, Duggan spoke up about his and his family's fears because of the diagnosis.
Jim Duggan's Health Journey Explored
Duggan's latest cancer recurrence came months after his wife, Debra, revealed that the WWE star had received an emergency surgery.
"Back where we don't want to be. Please pray for Jim and his doctors as he has emergency surgery this morning. Thank you, Debra," she captioned the photo of Duggan lying on his hospital bed.
She shared another picture of the wrestler showing a thumbs up following his surgery.
At that time, she did not reveal what the surgery was for. But the wrestler disclosed months later that the procedure was for his prostate cancer.
He revealed that his doctors performed several tests on his bones, lymph nodes, and other tissues to check whether the cancer ever spread or not. Fortunately, the results returned clear, making his doctors officially declare him cancer-free.
Aside from his cancer bout, Duggan also faced other health issues that tested his faith.
He faced a health scare during the Thanksgiving weekend after feeling "out of shape." He also began sensing pain in his chest before learning that his heart had gone into atrial fibrillation. The condition can be worrying enough since it leads to strokes, blood clots, or other heart problems.
In addition, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer 20 years ago.
