Ray Liotta Found Dead Inside Hotel Room: Was Foul Play Involved in Actor's Death?
Ray Liotta, the actor whose breakthrough roles include Martin Scorsese's "GoodFellas," has died. He was 67.
Liotta's publicist Jennifer Allen first confirmed the news in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. She revealed that he died on Wednesday night or early Thursday in the Dominican Republic a week after starting to work on the film "Dangerous Waters."
The statement added that Ray Liotta died in his sleep, but the exact cause of death remains unknown at the moment.
However, a source has since divulged to PEOPLE that no foul play was involved in his death. His fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, was also with him at the time of his passing.
His family and the "Dangerous Waters" team are yet to release more details about Liotta's sudden passing. But his colleagues and fans took their time to remember his legacy and honor him through tributes.
Jennifer Lopez wrote on Twitter, "Like a raw nerve, he was so accessible and so in touch in his acting and I will always remember our time together fondly. We lost a great today ... RIP RAY ... it's so sad to lose you what seems way too soon. I will remember you always. Sending so much love and strength to your daughter Karsen, your family and all your loved ones."
Ray Liotta's Journey to Hollywood
The Newark native studied acting at the University of Miami, which opened the doors for him to Hollywood. He first landed his "Another World" role before scoring small parts in telefilms, including "Our Family Honor."
Liotta finally got his first big movie role when he played Ray Sinclair's role in the romantic comedy, "Something Wild." From there, he became part of the 1988 drama "Dominick and Eugene," and it led him to reach his two breakthrough roles in "Field of Dreams" and "Goodfellas."

Among his other films include, "Cop Land," "Unlawful Entry," "No Escape," "Operation Dumbo Drop," "Unforgettable," and "Turbulence."
Meanwhile, he added popular TV series under his belt, like "Hannah Montana," "The Simpsons," "SpongeBob SquarePants," and "Family Guy," to name a few.
He also worked with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in Ted Demme's Blow.
Before his death, Liotta famously played the second lawyer of Adam Driver's character in "Marriage Story" on Netflix. The flick garnered six Oscars nominations.
