Johnny Depp v Amber Heard Trial Juror Reveals Turning Point of Defamation Case
A jury in the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard defamation trial broke their silence to dismiss the latter's accusations that the jury was starstruck by her ex-husband and that the ruling was unjust.
Speaking on "Good Morning America" via TMZ, an unnamed male juror stated they followed the evidence and were "uncomfortable" with Heard's emotional outbursts and how she kept glancing at them throughout the trial.
They apparently had difficulty believing her when she began weeping after being "ice cold."
The anonymous juror further denied that it was a social media trial, admitting that three of the jury members have no social media accounts.
The jury for the trial consisted of five men.
"The jury's majority thought she was the aggressor. The tears, the facial movements she made, the looking at the jury," he said, adding that none of the "Aquaman" actors were there "The actresses' tales made no sense.
He even claimed that several jury members used the phrase "crocodile tears."
According to the anonymous juror, one of the turning moments for the jury was when Amber Heard admitted that she had not donated the $7 million divorce settlement to charity despite publicly saying she had.
He also noted how Heard was on a talk program and sat there assuring the presenter that she gave away all $7 million, but "the truth is she didn't donate much of it at all."
He referred to it as a "fiasco," adding that while the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor's attorneys were "smart," his ex-legal wife's team had "sharp elbows" that came across as aggressive.
The juror, on the other hand, believes that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp abuse each other.
However, they trusted Depp the most because his statements and testimony appeared more credible, saying, "He just looked a bit more real in terms of how he was reacting to queries."
Unlike Heard, Depp apparently had a relatively steady emotional state.
One of the things the male juror made apparent was his disagreement with Heard's argument that social media had a role in their decision.
He explained, "We went with the evidence. At least two other jurors and I do not use Twitter or Facebook. Others who had it made a point of not discussing it."
In the end, the jury sided with Johnny Depp, believing that Amber Heard defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she described herself as a victim of domestic violence and assault.
Despite the fact that she has already lost the trial, Heard claims that she is not lying and has always stated the truth.
