In a new interview on the day of the premiere of Baz Lurhman's biopic, Elvis Presley's stepbrother relived his brother's final moments.

David E. Stanley informed The Sun that he was present at Graceland when Elvis died on August 16, 1977.

The King of Rock and Roll was about to leave for Portland for a new tour when he was discovered unconscious.

David has been working for his stepbrother since he was 16 and has detailed what transpired during Elvis' last hours.

He said Elvis drank his final pill cocktail and fell on the toilet at his Memphis residence.

David, an author, cinematographer, and Elvis' bodyguard and tour manager, recalled the singer's face burying into the carpet while his father, Vernon, shouted, "Come on, Elvis! Breathe!"

David said that he had been chastised for claiming Elvis Presley's cause of death for so long; yet, he confirmed: "that is what occurred."

He also stated that he did not worry at the moment since he had rescued his brother from previous overdose situations.

So he dashed up the stairs to his room, the bathroom, where Elvis was allegedly laying in the fetal position and Vernon was apparently sobbing about how his kid was already dead.

"I noticed his face buried in the carpet. I'm not sure if he slid off the toilet after having a heart attack."

David also disproved all the conspiracy theories about Elvis Presley dying after eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Still, he insisted, it was clearly a drug overdose.

"When I saw him, I knew he was gone; rigor mortis had set in, his eyes were rolled back, and his face was blue and swollen."

He told the publication that as soon as the paramedic stepped in, he warned them, "'It's a drug overdose.'"

"And Vernon stared at me furiously, but it was evident since paraphernalia and empty syringes were strewn about the body."

Elvis Presley struggled with various drug addiction issues in the years preceding up to his death, yet even after he was dead, he was transported to the hospital.

Doctors apparently tried to resuscitate him for 30 minutes before declaring him "dead."

According to post-mortem examinations, Elvis Presley already had cardiovascular illness, emphysema, and gastrointestinal issues.

At the time of his death, his blood contained over 10 different prescription medicines.

Dr. Nichopoulos allegedly prescribed Elvis 8,805 tablets and injectable medicines in the eight months following his death, including potent opioids often used for terminally ill cancer patients.

According to David, Elvis only became addicted to drugs when his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, drove him to work 24/7, stifling his creativity.
