Justin Sutherland's injuries after the July 4th boating accident have been publicized days after.

Sutherland's family is asking for everyone's help through a GoFundMe page. The fundraising site also shared more details about the horrifying event.

According to its description, the "Top Chef" star was driving the boat when he had to adjust his captain hat. The wind suddenly blew it off, causing him to try grabbing it.

Unfortunately, a wave suddenly hit the boat and led him to fall off it, resulting in injuries.

"He fell into the water near the motor, and the propeller did a number on his head and left arm. His arm is broken, but his grip remains strong and there appears to be no nerve damage. His jaw is severely broken, but doctors are optimistic that with several more surgeries he will be grinning in no time," the page said.

Sutherland also sustained lacerations all over his body. With these injuries, he is expected to stay at the hospital for some time and undergo more surgeries to help him with his recovery.

His healthcare coverage does not cover the medical bills of his accident, causing the GoFundMe page to have a goal of $500,000. After 14 hours, it immediately received $64,000.

Chefs, Fans Send Well-Wishes to Justin Sutherland

Following the news, celebrity chefs sent him well wishes and donated to support him and his family in the medical bills.

Guy Fieri, Andrew Zimmern, and Padma Lakshmi extended their arms and asked everyone to help support Sutherland if they are able.

Meanwhile, chef Brian Ingram will host a "day of Hope" on Thursday at his restaurant in Minnesota. Per his Facebook post, 100 percent of their sales will be donated to Sutherland's medical funds.

They came together after the Iron Chef's Instagram page assured everyone that he is on the mend after the accident.

"He is recovering and in good spirits. He will be off the radar for a little bit while he makes a full recovery," continued the message. "At this time his family asks for privacy, but please send him positive thoughts and prayers," it said.

The event came after his enterprise successfully expanded outside the Twin Cities by launching Big E's in downtown Portland. It remains unknown whether his plan to open his new restaurant Northern Soul in Minneapolis will be delayed due to his current status.
