On Wednesday, July 13, a Virginia court dismissed Amber Heard's request to declare a mistrial on the verdict against her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

The trial was presided over by Judge Penney Azcarate, who denied the Aquaman actress's motion despite proof that one of the jurors was not the person who was meant to serve on the jury.

Amber's attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the trial, stating that one of the jurors was not who they claimed to be. Her legal team submitted a 43-page document requesting that the verdict be overturned. The actress also revealed her intention to appeal.

The brief stated, "Ms. Heard had a right to rely on the basic protection, as prescribed by the Virginia Code, that the jurors in this trial would be individuals who were actually summoned for jury duty," the filing said. "In this case, it appears that Juror No. 15 was not, in fact, the same individual as listed on the jury panel. Ms. Heard's due process was therefore compromised. Under these circumstances, a mistrial should be declared, and a new trial ordered."

The court denied the motion. "The juror was vetted, sat for the entire jury, deliberated, and reached a verdict. The only evidence before this Court is that this juror and all jurors followed their oaths, the Court's instructions, and orders. This Court is bound by the competent decision of the jury," she said.

Johnny has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber, citing an editorial she published for The Washington Post in 2018. Amber countersued him for $100 million, citing the actor's attorney's accusations about her.

The jury decided that Amber had defamed her ex-husband and awarded him $10 million, while Johnny's ex-wife was sentenced to pay Johnny $2 million for defamatory allegations made by Adam Waldman. Even though she lost the case, Amber has maintained her testimony.

It's not that in court that Amber Heard cannot win these days.

Going abut her daily life often leads to malicious comments too, from allegedly the trolls belonging to Johnny Depp's camp.

According to Newsweek, when she goes shopping, they become unfathomably enraged. When she dares to speak on television, they are filled with hatred. Johnny Depp's troll army loves to attack Amber Heard with her own attractiveness, which is the most recent and possibly most peculiar thing.

"She didn't deserve this beauty," lamented one Tik Tok account, garnering 500,000 likes and tens of thousands of comments in agreement.
