"The Talk" executive producer Heather Gray has died.

CBS divulged the tragic news to the public regarding the award-winning showrunner of the daytime talk show. In a statement released following her passing, the network shared a letter addressed to the Talk Family, saying that she died on Saturday in Los Angeles.

President & CEO of CBS George Cheeks, President of CBS Studios David Stapf, Kelly Kahl President of CBS Network Entertainment, Senior EVP of Programming CBS Network Entertainment Thom Sherman, EVP Current Programs of CBS Network Entertainment Amy Reisenbach, and SVP and Daytime Programs, CBS Network Entertainment Laurie Seidman signed the announcement.

"She was an admired, beloved mama bear of your family and a leader that all looked up to. Her contributions to the success of the show are immeasurable, but more importantly, she was a boss that proved you can lead with kindness, caring, and friendship. Heather was everyone's friend, everyone's champion, everyone's favorite person on the set. We will miss her terribly," the message said, as quoted by Deadline.

CBS did not disclose Heather Gray's cause of death, but it disclosed that she died after her brave battle against "an unforgiving disease."

Heather Gray's Legacy Honored by Colleagues

Before joining "The Talk," she served as a development producer at Endemol USA. In 2006, she landed the supervising producer for "The Tyra Banks Show" until 2010.

Her time with the show paid off as she garnered her first two Daytime Emmys because of "The Tyra Banks Show."

Gray first joined "The Talk" midway through season 1 in 2010 as a senior supervising producer. She scored a big break when she was promoted to executive producer the next season before ultimately becoming an executive producer in August 2019.

Throughout her stint, she scored two Daytime Emmy Awards for the best talk show, and entertainment, in 2016 and 2018. She also brought home an NAACP Image Award in 2016.

The official The Talk's Twitter account also shared a photo of her alongside the caption: "It is with heavy hearts to share the unexpected passing of our beloved Heather Gray. Heather has been the heart and soul of "The Talk" from day one. Her brilliance as an innovative producer was only outmatched by her huge smile and infectious laugh."
