Anne Heche has been called "crazy" by her haters even after her death.

After a week of hospital stay, Heche was taken off her life support and had her organs donated to her matched recipients. Although she faced a tragic death, people still chose to condemn her and call her "crazy."

In response to this, Heche's co-star Emily Bergl slammed those people and defended the actress.

In her Instagram post, Bergl told her followers that she had been asked how crazy Heche was when she worked with her. She then dismissed the claims and called the late star a "genius" performer who "elicited more curiosity than any other famous person."

"I don't think I ever saw her miss her mark. The only joke I did make about Anne was that it's likely she didn't have a psychotic break, but really was an alien, because her strength seemed super human," she went on.

Bergl also described Heche's smiling face as "luminous without a lick of makeup." She clarified that her co-star had always kept herself together despite the things she went through.

According to the actress, it is not surprising that Heche titled her memoir "Call Me Crazy" as the late actress beat everyone easily.

In response to her post, Heche's ex, James Tupper, thanked Bergl for writing the "accurate" post.

Anne Heche Died

In a similar story, Heche was officially pronounced dead on Sunday night after spending several days at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills (California) Hospital and Medical Center. She fell into a coma after the car accident and was eventually pronounced brain dead.

The status made her legally dead according to California law, but she was kept alive to preserve her organs before they could be donated to recipients who matched her.

"Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact," the family said.

Heche sustained a "severe anoxic brain injury" as the firefighters took 65 minutes before they were able to pull her out of her car.

According to Headway The Brain Injury Association, severe anoxia can result in coma. The brain's nerve cells become sensitive to a lack of oxygen due to the high demand for energy.
