With the recent success of the newest prequel "House of the Dragon", actress Milly Alcock shares her love on the HBO series "Game of Thrones" and what she believes to be the key to its success.

The 22 year old actress reigns supreme in her role as Rhaenyra Targaryen in the "Game of Thrones" prequel, making her fiery pilot episode debut on top of a dragon flying in King's Landing. "House of the Dragon" is set 200 years before the original series and is centered on the Targaryen dynasty based on George R.R. Martin's "A song of fire and ice" books. The series first premiered in August 21 on HBO Max.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, the "Upright" star catches up about the ongoing success of the "Game of Thrones" prequel and admits that she's actually an avid fan of the series. According to Alcock, she attributes the show's success to the suspense that keeps viewers hooked.

"It's just such a clever show. No one is safe. And I think that that is something that audiences aren't given a lot of the time. We kind of have this in the back of our mind like, 'Oh, they're not going to kill off the main character.'... It's like, 'No, Game of Thrones really likes to flip that on its head; that's why I loved it." The 22 year old actress gushed. "I was like, 'No one is safe.' It exceeded my expectations every time."

Garners Praise as Rhaenyra Targaryen

In the same interview, Alcock also talked about her unexpectedly well performance as a member of the House Targaryen, and takes a moment to appreciate her part in the show.

"I was in Paris, when the premiere came out. I was with Fabian Frankel, who plays Ser Criston Cole, we were doing our last press tour stop." Alcock explained. "I mean, I'm really surprised because I didn't think that anyone would notice my performance. I didn't go into it being like, 'I'm going to prove myself as an actor.' I was just kind of like, 'I'm in this show. I've got a good part in the show.'"

The "House of the Dragon" first season will reportedly have ten episodes, premiering weekly. The prequel series has been renewed by HBO for a second season following its successful premiere, which garnered over 20 million viewers.
