Pauley Perrette Nearly Died A Year Ago After Near-Fatal Event — What Happened to 'NCIS' Alum?
Pauley Perrette is looking back at the time she almost lost her life due to an emergency health issue.
Perrette recalled the struggles she went through as a child and an adult through a Twitter post and video. One of the things she tackled was the near-death stroke she faced a year ago.
The "NCIS" star uploaded the clip exactly a year when she had the massive stroke. She added that she lost her loved ones before, including her father and cousin.
Despite that, she chose to look at those things positively and call herself a survivor of the traumatic life she had. After going through those things, she reportedly felt grateful to still be here.
"Yes, I'm still here, again. How many times do I cheat death? Like I almost died from a hair dye allergy. I have food allergies, I'm a domestic violence and a rape survivor. I was assaulted by a crazy homeless person and almost died and I'm still here," she continuously said.
She then assured her fans and followers that she now feels grateful to be alive, especially since she is spending her life with her rescue dogs.
It remains unknown how severe the stroke was. But Perrette thinks that the stroke was way easier to deal with compared to other things he went through.
Pauley Perrette Also Loves Singing
Perrette left the investigative drama in 2017. At that time, she disclosed that her exit was planned a year before. She famously played the role of fan-favorite forensic scientist Abby Sciuto but left the role after 15 seasons.
Fans urged her to return and there were also rumors that she would return to the CBS drama. However, she claimed she was already terrified of her former co-star, Mark Harmon, causing her to decide not to return at all.
Two years later, she was tapped to play the lead role in the 13-episode "Broke" and worked with Natasha Leggero and Jaime Camil in the series.
Although she announced her retirement from acting, Perrette clarified that she still loves to sing.
Weeks ago, she opened up on her social media site about her singing talents and shared a song she wrote in 2015. According to the actress, the track "Beautiful Child" was about the memory she had with her friend's late brother.
She made the clip while trying to raise awareness regarding the Trevor Project - the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization to save the lives of young LGBTQ members.
