Zac Efron is clarifying the rumors about his reported plastic surgeries.

Efron turned people's heads for the wrong reason last year when his fans noticed that he seemingly underwent botched plastic surgeries. After a year since the buzz came out, the actor himself spoke up about the claims.

The "High School Musical" album recently appeared in the October 2022 issue of Men's Health where he addressed the plastic surgery claims. He revealed that his changing appearance was actually caused by an accident that happened in his home.

Meanwhile, the physical therapy he underwent led his chin to become bigger than it used to be.

"He'd been running through his house in socks and slipped, smacking his chin against the granite corner of a fountain. He lost consciousness, and when he woke up, he recalls, his chin bone was hanging off his face," reporter Lauren Larson said, quoting the conversation she had with Efron.

Efron also worked with a specialist to make his masseter muscles and other facial muscles work together again and appear smaller.

The rumors about his plastic surgery spread even more that it also reached his mother. Still, he chose to shrug off the comments and work on himself instead.

The Beginning of Zac Efron's Plastic Surgery Rumors

It all began when he appeared on Bill Nye's "Earth Day Musical" special with Facebook Watch last year. He joined other celebrities who urged people to save and care for Earth.

But an eight-second clip from the event created buzzes as he reportedly looked like he received enhancements on his lips and jaws. Fans then compared him to Squidward from "SpongeBob SquarePants" and Shrek.

Amid the rumors, OK! Magazine received an explanation from experts, who revealed that he probably had injections to reshape his jaw. According to board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, Efron truly looked different because of his wider jaw.

But he also clarified that it might also be caused by recent surgery, like wisdom teeth removal. Still, his jaws look lumpy as of press time.

Meanwhile, Neinstein Plastic Surgery's Dr. Chris Funderburk also shared a similar sentiment, saying that the actor became a victim of an "overfilled face with facial fillers." This event reportedly happens to patients who receive poor facial aesthetics.
