Zydrunas Ilgauskas' wife, Jennifer Ilgauskas, died. She was 50.

McGreevey Funeral Homes confirmed Jennifer's tragic death through a heartfelt obituary on the Zeis-McGreevey Funeral Homes and Berry-McGreevey-Martens Funeral Homes website, saying that she died on September 11.

The post, however, did not disclose Jennifer Ilgauskas' cause of death.

"Jennifer's approach to her professional life was visionary and selfless, executed with a servant heart. She always had ideas for growth and the never-ending desire to achieve more," part of the obituary said.

She worked in her own Rebound Physical Therapy, North Olmsted Urgent Care in a medical care located in Ohio. She also served in the medical billing company Darbo.

The family will hold a funeral mass on Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at St. James Church, 17514 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood. While it will be open to the public, the interment for Jennifer will be held private.

Instead of flowers, the family asked to send donations in memory of the matriarch to Catholic Charities or Care Alliance.

Remembering Jennifer Ilgauskas

Following the release of the statement, Zydrunas' former team and fans paid tributes and respect to the late wife.

Jennifer had two children with the 47-year-old former Cavaliers player, Deividas and Povilas. They adopted them from the basketball star's hometown in 2009.

The athlete served the Cavaliers from 1996 to 2010. Akron Beacon Journal noted that Zydrunas managed to become a two-time NBA All-Star before ending his career under Miami Heat during the 2010-2011 season. His jersey number got formally retired in 2014.

In 2018, the basketball star received the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission's Lifetime Achievement Award. During his interview with DMan's World, he talked about the foot surgeries he went through and how they pushed him to become greater than before.

Throughout his nearly 1000 regular-season games in his over a decade of career, he underwent several foot surgeries that he thinks about them whenever people talk about his NBA career.

According to Zydrunas, he could summarize his whole career in two phases: the time before his major surgery in February 2001 and its post-surgery.

At that time, his doctors had to put screws and rebuild his whole left foot. It became life-changing and revolutionary as, although he missed NBA seasons because of that, he managed to come back healthily and play for 10 more seasons.
