Friends close to the rapper express their concern over his series of troubling headlines.

Kanye West has been the subject of numerous controversial headlines as of late following the release of his Yeezy Season 9 collection during Paris Fashion Week, which featured "White Lives Matter" in bold text on the back of a shirt. The statement sparked outrage among his audience, resulting in the "Yeezy" founder starting a feud with some of his critics online.

Eventually, his ranting spree turned into a content moderation controversy which got him restricted from Instagram temporarily. The aftermath of the issue resulted in some of Kanye's posts being deleted for repeatedly violating policies, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Friends Grow Concerned About Ye

Amidst his streak of troubling headlines, sources may have an explanation for his erratic behavior. According to Page Six, sources close to the rapper are "certain" that Kanye West's latest controversial headlines are the result of a "mental break", and they expressed their concern as this recent psychotic episode may just be his most serious one up to date.

"Sources close to the star said that his odd behavior began when he fired the publicist for his Paris fashion show last week, scrapped his plans for the show and hastily put together a new show featuring the now-infamous 'White Lives Matter' theme. He also booked his jaw-dropping interview with Tucker Carlson against the advice of his team," as per a report from Page six.

Additionally, the insiders revealed that the 45-year-old "Praise God" rapper has been struggling with sleeping as of late.

Kanye West's Mental Health History

The "Flashing Lights" rapper publicly announced his diagnosis of bipolar disorder in 2016, when he was admitted to a psychiatric facility. In a 2019 interview with David Letterman during a season of "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction", West opened up about his experience with his illness.

"When you're in this state, you're hyper-paranoid about everything, everyone," West explained to David Letterman. "This is my experience, other people have different experiences. Everyone now is an actor. Everything's a conspiracy. You feel the government is putting chips in your head. You feel you're being recorded. You feel all these things."

As of now, no representatives for West have given any comment on his alleged psychotic episode.
