James Corden Banned From NYC Restaurant? Owner Details 'Extremely Nasty' Attitude
It seems that restauranteur Keith McNally didn't find the comedian's attitude very funny.
Restauranteur Keith McNally is dubbed by the New York Times as "The Restaurateur Who Invented Downtown". He is famous for owning the NYC restaurant Balthazar, among other several known food establishments like Augustine, Cafe Luxembourg, Cherche Midi, Lucky Strike, and more. He has been active in the restaurant scene since the 1980s.
Just recently, though, he has declared a ban on comedian, James Corden.
James Corden's Attitude From Way Back
In a recent Instagram post, Keith McNally detailed the incidents that led him to "86" (which means to kick out or ban) the "The Late Late Show with James Corden" star. Keith went on to call Corden a "tiny cretin of a man" and claims that he was allegedly the "most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago."
Keith McNally detailed two incidents wherein Corden had been abusive to his waitstaff from two restaurants. In the first incident, which happened a few years back in Keith's former restaurant, Cafe Luxembourg, he recalls how James demanded another round of drinks after finding a hair in his food and threatened to leave a bad review.
"After eating his main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G. who was very apologetic," McNally explained the first incident. "Corden was extremely nasty to G, and said: 'Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I [won't] write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that.'"
The Latest James Corden Incident
The second incident, which allegedly occurred in Balthazar on October 9th, involved an egg omelet and a side salad for Corden's wife. The comedian had called over the server, who was under the alias M.K., and complained that the yolk was mixed with a bit of egg white.
M.K. reported the complaint to the restaurant manager and had the kitchen remake the dish. However, the newly-prepared omelet was served with fries instead of the initial salad, which sent James into an angry fit towards the server.
"The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad. That's when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server." The report stated, "You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelet myself!"
Shortly after, the manager offered the upset couple two promo Champagne glasses to smooth things out. However, the report noted that Corden was pleasant to the manager but nasty to the server.
