We're the Millers stars Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston and Emma Roberts as people pretending to be a family to smuggle drugs over the border of Mexico. Directed by Raswson Marshall Thurber, the film reportedly cost $37 million to produce.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that insiders believe the film could hit $40 million in its five-day debut.

The number two spot went to the 20th Century Fox's sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Directed by Thor Freudenthal. The film is reportedly expected to make $5 million or more a day for the five-day debut.

Based on the bestselling series by Rick Riordan, Sea of Monsters cost $90 million to produce and brings Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson and Alexandra Daddario back to the big screen.

Both We're the Millers and Sea of Monsters are opening midweek to get a head start on Disney's animated film Planes and Sony's sci-fi Elysium. Both hit theaters tomorrow night.
