'The Bachelor' Season 28 Premiere: Who Won The First Impression Rose?
Season 28 of 'The Bachelor' kicked off Monday, which will follow Joey Graziadei's journey for a life partner and a new love story.
Graziadei, 28, is returning for his second chance at love, stealing many hearts back in season 20 with his loyalty, consideration, and empathy for others. This heartthrob contestant was the runner-up to Dotun Olubeko in Charity Lawson's 'The Bachelorette.'
Emotions flared after the first impression rose was given. Graziadei, the heartthrob tennis pro from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, had his eyes set on Maria "Lea," an account manager from Waipahu, Hawaii.
"She gives me that validation that she's here for the right reasons. She has the characteristics and qualities I want in my life," said Graziadei.
Fellow contestant Evalin, 29, a nanny from San Antonio, Texas, broke out into tears.
"It's hard enough to be open to the idea of being vulnerable with somebody. Then, be open to it and just not get the chance. It's weird to feel so strongly about it," she began, drying her eyes. "But that's what happens, you put yourself out there, things don't always work out how you want. So...it is what it is."
Graziadei has been open about his desire for a partner who is outgoing, caring, and shares his love for adventure and exploring the outdoors. He loves hiking, surfing, and ending his days watching the sunset.
Alum bachelor Jesse Palmer returns as the current host of 'The Bachelor' due to long-time host Chris Harrison's discharge from the franchise in 2021 after reportedly defending a contestant's past racist behavior.
Harrison, having hosted the franchise for almost two decades, spoke out to ABC News about the incident. "From here I can only try to evolve and be a better man, and I humble myself before all of you," he said. "I hope I will again live up to the expectations you all rightfully have for me and the expectations I have for myself."
