Prince Harry 'Torn' Between Dad King Charles And Wife Meghan Markle, Royal Expert Claims
Meghan Markle allegedly plays a role in Prince Harry's relationship with his father, King Charles, according to a royal expert.
The Duke of Sussex immediately flew to London after learning about the King's cancer diagnosis. Prince Harry returned to his home country sans his wife Meghan and their two children -- Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2.
Royal biographer, commentator and British broadcaster Angela Levin weighed in on Prince Harry and King Charles' relationship status. She believes Prince William's younger brother could have difficulties during his reunion with his dad.
"I think it's going to be difficult for Harry," Levin said on GB News. "Not the King who has always loved Harry and always had a door open, but as far as Harry is concerned, he's a very changed person."
The "Harry: Biography of a Prince" author said that the Duke of Sussex seemed "torn" between his father and wife. It should be noted that Prince Harry previously said he wanted the royal family to apologize to his wife.
"He's very determined, and he has to please Meghan. It will be very difficult [for] him between choosing whether he does what Meghan tells him to do and what he wants to do about his father," Levin continued. "He was very, very close to his father when he was younger, far closer to William, who is now very close to his father."
In another interview, Levin claimed Markle would not be pleased if Prince Harry reconciled with his father.
"If he does actually become very close to his father, I don't think she will be pleased whatsoever, and he's got this rock that he's in, that whether he upsets Meghan or he upsets his father," Levin claimed.
According to reports, Prince Harry is already in London. He visited King Charles in his residence at Clarence House but only spent 45 minutes there. King Charles and Queen Camilla were later photographed leaving Clarence House and arriving at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Sussex reportedly left shortly before that.
Prince Harry rushing to see his father after the Palace announced his cancer diagnosis sparked concerns among royal fans. They speculated that the monarch's condition was probably serious because his youngest son, who has been at odds with the royal family, hurried to visit him.
"It must be serious if Harry is heading off to London," one commented. Another opined, "If Harry is flying to be with his father and King Charles will not be seen in public, it must be very serious? So sorry [for] the entire Royal Family!"
Buckingham Palace released a statement about the King's health on its website. The Palace said during a recent hospital procedure for his benign prostate enlargement, "subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer." It was reportedly a "separate issue of concern."
