Donald Trump Calls Taylor Swift's Potential Joe Biden Endorsement 'Disloyal'
Former President Donald J. Trump called Taylor Swift's potential endorsement of President Joe Biden would be deemed as an act of disloyalty.
The statement comes against the backdrop of Trump, 77, highlighting his previous role in signing legislation aimed at facilitating artists in the collection of royalties from streamed songs.
"I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other musical artists," asserted Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social Sunday. His statement highlighted his role in the 2018 bill that received nearly unanimous support from members of both political parties in Congress.
"Joe Biden didn't do anything for Taylor, and never will," he said. "There's no way she could endorse crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money."
He continued: "Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis [Kelce], even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can't stand me!"
Swift, 34, and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and recent Super Bowl winner, have been at the center of right-wing conspiracy theories for months. This scrutiny began when Swift encouraged her fans to register to vote, resulting in tens of thousands complying. Additionally, Kelce, 34, also participated in a Pfizer ad campaign advocating for covid and flu vaccines.
The "Cruel Summer" singer endorsed Joe Biden in 2020.
