Prince William Recognizes Emilia Clarke With A Medal For Her Charity Contributions
Prince William honored Emilia Clarke with a medal for their charity work.
William, 41, bestowed the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) medals upon Clarke and her mother, Jennifer Clarke, during a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. The recognition was in acknowledgment of their exceptional contributions through their organization SameYou, dedicated to aiding individuals with brain injuries. Their efforts focus on ensuring brain injury survivors receive improved mental health treatment.

"From Westeros to Windsor, a real pleasure presenting @emilia_clarke and her mom Jennifer with their honors today for their charity work with @sameyouorg supporting brain injury recovery care," a post's caption on Prince Williams and Princess of Wales Instagram read, with a video from the ceremony.
In the clip, Jennifer expressed it was "such an honor" while the 'Game of Thrones' actress conveyed her excitement about being recognized for a cause that holds a special place in their hearts.
"To have an award like this ... cherry on the cake," Clarke, 37, said. "I'm going to get my photo taken because of this award. And people are going to say, 'Why is this person, who we recognize, got this award?' And we're going to say, 'It's for brain injury recovery.' "
Last month, the reactions from the mother and daughter were filled with joy upon learning of their selection as recipients of the prestigious honor.
"Still so flabbergasted and amazed that mum and I have been given the incredible honor of MBE's....!," Clarke posted via her Instagram in January. "But all of this glamor and excitement is the stuff of pictures, this MBE is really for everyone who has and still is suffering from a brain injury."
In 2019, Clarke and her mom established SameYou after the actress was inspired by her personal journey of surviving two brain hemorrhages during her time on 'Game of Thrones.' She revealed that the nonprofit's founding was driven by a desire to make a positive impact and support those facing similar challenges.
