President Biden Takes Jab At Donald Trump: ‘He Can’t Remember His Wife’s Name’
On Monday, President Joe Biden made a surprise appearance on the 10th anniversary episode of 'Late Night With Seth Meyers.'
Dressed in Democratic blue, Biden shared his agenda for the 2024 election, Republican opponent Donald Trump, and the growing concern American voters have regarding his age.
Meyers, 50, mentioned the leaked documents which revealed the 46th president's age. "This isn't a gotcha show, but I do want to ask," he begins. "The documents say you're currently 81 years old."
"Who the h*** told you that?" Biden jokingly shot back. The two both laughed that the gotcha statement was "classified."
When Meyers inquired about how Biden would address concerns regarding his age, Biden responded with a jab at his opponent Trump.
"Number one, you gotta take a look at the other guy," he said. "He's about as old as I am, but he can't even remember his wife's name. Number two, it's about how old your ideas are."
He went on to claim that Trump wants to take America back on a whole range of issues that "for 50 or 60 years have been solid American positions."
"I really think his views on where to take America are older than.. .anyway," he concluded.
The comment was in reference to Trump's recent participation at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where the former Republican president mistakenly called his wife Mercedes instead of Melania while at the podium.
Biden, 81, closed by saying the agenda for the upcoming election is "to finish the job."
"Look, I think — let me put it this way — this is not your father's Republican party," he started. "They got about 30% of the Republican party controlling it all, and I think we're going to break it."
This interview isn't the only time Biden flaunts sophistication and charm.
According to Business Insider, a book by 'New York Times' White House correspondent Katie Rogers, which is due to be released Tuesday, features a steamy excerpt from the 81-year-old president.
In 'American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, From Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden,' Rogers claims Biden alluded to aides that "good sex" is the key to a lasting and happy marriage.
