ENSTARZ EXCLUSIVE: Jordyn McIntosh Learns About ‘Family’ And ‘Trust’ After Filming Hulu’s ‘Unprisoned’
In an exclusive interview with Enstarz, Jordyn McIntosh spoke with Asheea Smith about what she's learned while filming Hulu's NAACP Image nominated TV series "Unprisoned."
McIntosh, 10, naturally resonated with becoming an actress due to her eccentric personality since the age of four.
"I was in my classroom, being crazy," she joked.
"I had a crazy personality, jumping out of my seat, loud noises, singing, and dancing in the middle of class. So my parents put me into these acting theater lessons. And I just fell in love with acting," she recalled. "That's how I knew this was my activity that I was going to do for the rest of my life."

The actress has already worked with some of Hollywood's most influential stars, including Will Smith and Viola Davis.
With so many film opportunities in a short time, she took the time to explain what she's learned while filming "Unprisoned," starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo.
ENSTARZ: "What has the storyline of 'Unprisoned' taught you? Do you get anything out of the story, as a whole?"
JORDYN: "Pretty much family, and putting trust into the people that you love. Yeah...family, trust, and love."
ENSTARZ: "That is such a mouthful. That's a great thing to take away. If you can do anything and get that message out of it, then you're winning."
McIntosh, who plays the personification of a younger Paige — the adult Paige is played by Washington — went on to explain the process of getting into character as little Paige, saying she takes the time to understand the tone of the characters before she begins.
"I really take in what's going on in the scene first, before we start filming," she started. "I think of who Paige's character is too — since Paige and little Paige are the same person, just younger ages."
"I try to take in her character to fit into mine, so I know how to express my feelings. Also, I took in that my dad, Delroy Lindo, was in prison for about 15 years. I know that was going really hard for me, so I also took in that for me too," McIntosh continued.
McIntosh has been seen in 'Genie' (2023), 'Abbott Elementary' (2022), 'The Lady Makers' (2022), 'Emancipation' (2022), 'The Storied Life Of A.J. Fikry' (2022), and 'The First Lady' (2022).
She loves Emma Watson and said she would love to play her in a "hypothetical" Harry Potter series, thinking wishfully. She loves Broadway, especially the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical 'Hamilton' (2020) by Lin-Manuel Miranda. However, her short term goal is to book another series regular role.
