Carlo Ancelotti's team will take on a Milan squad looking for redemption after a poor showing in Serie A last season. The game will be played at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. Both teams have been in the U.S. partaking in the International Champions Cup, which Madrid won with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Aug. 4.

"I'm satisfied because we worked well, injuries have improved, and we haven't had any other set-backs. This season is going to start off well," said Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Both teams have new coaches, but Ancelotti's inaugural season with Madrid will probably be more successful than that of Milan's new coach Walter Mazzarri, who led Napoli to a second place finish in Serie A last season. Milan finished ninth, failing to qualify for any European competition.

Milan also had a pedestrian performance at the International Champions Cup, finishing in seventh place. They did have an impressive victory over last season's Serie A champions, Juventus, in the seventh and eight place play-off. A performance Milan's striker Deigo Milito hopes his squad can build on going into the official season.

"We're working very well and the team is on the up. We lacked a bit of flair in the early matches but that's natural in pre-season. We've definitely moved forward from a tactical perspective though," Milito told his team's official website.
