Will Barron Trump Attend Wharton School Or Georgetown For College? Netizens Weigh In
Barron Trump is heading to college in the next school year, and internet users are weighing in on where the youngest Trump child could go.
The 18-year-old son of Melania and Donald Trump will graduate high school this year from the Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, and People reported that he has been busy looking at colleges in recent months.
While it is unclear if Barron has already chosen a school, some online users have shared their speculations regarding where he may attend college, including Georgetown University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
In the subReddit ApplyingToCollege, one post suggested that Barron could follow in his father and older siblings' footsteps and attend UPenn because the Trump family has "a huge legacy connection to" the school.
"His dad and three siblings attended. No doubt an offer of admission from here would be hard to turn down. I'm betting 100% this was his ED (early decision) school," the post speculated.
The Reddit user also suggested that Barron may also choose Georgetown University if he "enjoyed his time" in Washington, D.C., and "wants to return."
Barron's father and older half-siblings Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. all graduated from Wharton School with degrees in economics.
Tiffany Trump received her sociology degree from the University of Pennsylvania before later enrolling in Georgetown Law School, where she was awarded a J.D. degree in 2020.
Meanwhile, Eric Trump graduated with a degree in finance and management from Georgetown University.
Several other users agreed, with one person speculating: "Unless (and maybe even if) Barron is super interested in, like, the Classics, he's headed to Penn."
A Quora user also speculated that the former president's alleged donations to UPenn "could buy Barron an admission ... and maybe if he has an interest in finance, [he] will be admitted to Wharton School of Finance."
The Daily Pennsylvanian reported in 2016 that Trump may have donated about $1.48 million in total to UPenn during the years that his older children attended the Ivy League school. Enstarz could not independently verify this information.
The UPenn student newspaper cited "University reports, his foundation's tax filings, and other sources."
The donations reportedly started in the year Donald Jr. attended the Wharton Business School in 1996, according to the campus paper.
The Daily Pennsylvanian noted that it is unclear if the donations were actually made as UPenn records donation pledges but not if they were followed through.
In addition to UPenn and Georgetown, some Reddit users also suggested that Barron could choose a school in Florida to "stay close to home" or go to another prestigious university like Harvard, Princeton, or New York University.
While it is still unknown which school Barron is eyeing, his mother may have a say in the decision.
An unnamed source told People that Melania is helping her only child in his ongoing college search.
"Melania's main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it's possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school," the insider suggested. "Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years."
"Melania is all about Barron and her family. She has always been family-oriented," the source continued.
