Nashville authorities apprehended country music sensation Morgan Wallen on Sunday evening, accusing him of flinging a chair from a rooftop in the city's downtown area.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced on Monday that Wallen faces three felony charges of reckless endangerment following his arrest.

Metro Nashville police officers stationed outside Chief's Bar on Broadway were startled when a chair descended from above, landing perilously close to their position, just before 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Bar employees recounted to authorities that Morgan Wallen, identified as the suspect, had launched the chair from the rooftop of the six-story establishment.

The arrest affidavit, as reported by CNN affiliate WTVF, revealed that surveillance footage captured Wallen's aggressive movements on the rooftop, depicting him "lunging" and hurling an object over the edge. Eyewitnesses further alleged Wallen's involvement, recounting how he reportedly seized a chair and flung it from the rooftop, followed by laughter.

Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson, acknowledged the singer's arrest in a statement to CNN on Monday, stating, "At 10:53p Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct." Robinson assured that Wallen is fully cooperating with authorities.

The 30-year-old musician is now confronted with three charges of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, classified as a class E felony in Tennessee, as the chair he allegedly threw landed near two police officers, posing a threat to public safety, as outlined in the affidavit. Additionally, he faces one count of disorderly conduct.

According to the Davidson County Criminal Court website, Wallen's bail was set at $15,250. He is slated to appear in court on May 3.

Despite previous career controversies, including a suspension of his contract by his record label and a halt in music airplay on several radio stations after he was filmed using a racial slur in 2021, Wallen has managed to rebound. With hits like "Last Night" and "Thought You Should Know," Wallen's music saw a resurgence in popularity following his apology, aided by support from his fan base.
