Melania Trump was in great spirits when she joined her husband, Donald Trump, at a fundraising event over the weekend.

Melania joined her husband at John Paulson's lavish house on Saturday for a fundraiser. The former first lady's appearance at the gathering made the rounds on social media because she allegedly looked like a "hostage" while standing next to Trump.

However, sources who also attended the gathering spoke with Page Six, saying Melania's disposition at the event was very far from what the netizens saw in the footage that circulated on X, formerly Twitter.

"Melania Trump emerged as the main star at the Republican fundraiser at John Paulson's $100 million house in Palm Beach," one unnamed source told Page Six.

"The former first lady, who usually appears quite serious in photographs, seemed to never stop smiling Saturday night and was charming and talkative to all the guests . . . She's ready to be first lady again and clearly enjoyed the evening."

The former first couple's outing previously received mixed responses from the netizens, including Melania's former aide, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. The latter mocked the Trump matriarch on X, saying that she looked like she was "about to dive head first into a pool of sharks" with no one to rescue her.

"I was the only life guard on duty when she was First Lady," Winston Wolkoff claimed.

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James noticed Melania and Trump's contrasting body language, which resulted in "awkward-looking moments." For instance, when Trump reached out to hold hands, Melania didn't immediately react and looked like she didn't expect the PDA or was avoiding it.

Despite the various speculations about Melania during the outing, the insider said she was actually into it. The tipster also approved of how Melania interacted with the people. She reportedly enjoyed what she did and could make more appearances in her husband's campaign trail in the future.

"Melania enjoys being a hostess," the insider continued. "She's very supportive of her husband's campaign, and as we get closer to the final months, you can expect to see her more at key events."

Melania rarely joins Trump in his campaigns as she prefers to be home with their 18-year-old son, Barron. However, she is set to host a fundraising event for the Log Cabin Republicans, the largest organization dedicated to LGBT conservatives, later this month.

Before the event, many netizens said that she looked like trans woman Caitlyn Jenner. However, Melania's supporters insisted the ex-FLOTUS looked better than the reality star.
