Liza Minnelli has been spotted in public for the first time in nearly a year.

Photos published by the Daily Mail and The Sun showed the 78-year-old "Cabaret" star looking frail while being helped out of a car and into a wheelchair outside her home in Beverly Hills, California, on April 4.

In one snap, Minnelli appeared to close her eyes as she was being wheeled into her residence.

Despite this, she was reportedly in "decent spirits" during the sighting, the Daily Mail said.

Minnelli had just returned home after enjoying a night out with pals, according to the outlets.

The Oscar winner sported full makeup, an all-black outfit, jewelry, and her signature pixie cut.

Before this outing, Minnelli was last photographed in public in June 2023 when she was spotted at a restaurant in West Hollywood.

Minnelli has battled many health problems over the past three decades and has largely withdrawn from the public eye in recent years.

She was previously treated for addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs following the death of her mother, Judy Garland.

In 2000, Minnelli suffered a serious case of viral encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain that may cause weakness, partial paralysis, and speech and hearing issues, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.

While doctors predicted at the time that she'd spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, the Hollywood legend was able to recover and get back on stage, Variety reported.

However, the star's health issues did not stop in the following years, with Minnelli suffering polyps on her vocal cords and having to get two hip replacements and a kneecap replacement.

She fell onstage in 2007, causing her to undergo jawbone reconstruction, and broke her wrists in 2013, according to The Sun.

Minnelli once again had to undergo surgery in 2014 when she broke her lower back after a dog jumped on her.

In 2022, she made a surprise appearance at the Oscars, joining Lady Gaga on stage to present the best picture award.

Minnelli's appearance at the time shocked fans, with some claiming she looked frail and confused.

Minnelli's former publicist Scott Gorenstein, who made the moment possible, told the New York Post at the time that the stage legend was "living her best life, not having to be in front of the cameras."

"She's been under tremendous pressure her entire life to perform for audiences. The past couple of years have allowed her to relax and enjoy another phase of her life," Gorenstein added.

He explained that Minnelli agreed to come out and appear at the 2022 Academy Awards because he said it would be a "historic" moment.

During an interview with People published last month, Minnelli opened up about turning 78 on March 12.

"I am so grateful for all the good wishes and all the love that comes my way. Not only on my birthday, but always," she said. "I wish I knew how to act my age. But kids guess what, I have never been this damn old! Just keep going baby, that's the secret!"
