Billionaire Taylor Swift Declined $9 Million Offer To Perform Private Concert In UAE, French Montana Claims
Taylor Swift reportedly turned down a staggering offer to perform a private show in the United Arab Emirates last December.
In a recent interview with VladTV, the Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, real name Karim Kharbouch, revealed that the artist who was offered $9 million for a show in his social media post was Taylor Swift.
"It was Taylor Swift," he told DJ Vlad and explained, "They had a show offer for me and Taylor. Her $9 million, me $1 million... somewhere in the Emirates."
Way before the interview, French Montana caused a buzz online when he posted about the offer on Instagram.
"Somebody just sent me a show offer. Who you all think the 9 million for? LOL," he wrote in the now-deleted post.
However, the rapper told the DJ that the Grammy-winning singer turned down the offer.
Enstarz could not independently confirm the reason why Swift declined.
Meanwhile, the Music Times reported that it's unknown whether the same people behind Beyoncé's invitation-only private show in Dubai in January 2023 were responsible for the offer to the pop star and the rapper.
At the time, the "Cuff It" singer reportedly pocketed at least $24 million for performing a private show at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, per Forbes.
Interestingly, turning down the $9 million offer may seem like a small thing for the "1989" artist, who recently made it to the latest Forbes World's Billionaires list after her net worth reached $1.1 billion.
According to Forbes, she achieved the milestone after the re-release of the "1989 (Taylor's Version)" album and her ongoing "The Eras Tour." The business magazine also described the songstress as its "most famous newcomer" who made a "record-breaking, five-continent" world tour.
The "Midnights" songstress was also recognized as "the first musician to hit ten-figure status solely based on her songs and performances."
Aside from her royalty earnings as a singer-songwriter, the Person of the Year for Time Magazine in 2023 also had several endorsement deals with different companies such as CoverGirl, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Keds, Sony Electronics and Target.
Her net worth shows in the several real estate properties she acquired that are reportedly worth $81 to $110 million in total. Included in her real estate portfolio are her $17 million "Holiday House" in Rhode Island, an apartment in New York and a house in Nashville.
