Is Taylor Swift Dazzler In 'Deadpool & Wolverine'? Director Says 'I Can't Answer That'
Taylor Swift may or may not appear in "Deadpool 3."
"Deadpool & Wolverine" director Shawn Levy has addressed the rumored appearance of the pop superstar in the film in an interview with Kevin Frazier for Entertainment Tonight at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
However, Levy clarified in his response that he didn't want to confirm nor deny the speculations about the "Anti-Hero" singer's possible cameo in Ryan Reynold's upcoming superhero flick.
"I couldn't believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can't answer. You know I can't answer," Levy replied.
Frazier jokingly argued, saying, "No, you can answer that." However, Levy was firm in not giving a solid response.
"All of America knows I can't answer that. But I will say, as I said earlier here at CinemaCon, the proliferation of rumors about who is in this movie is fabulous because no one will ever know the truth until July 26," Levin said.
But the interviewer wanted a clear response about Swift's rumored cameo and tried his luck by asking, "So tell us Swift is Dazzler?" Levy doubled down on his initial response, saying, "That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview."
"So Taylor Swift isn't Dazzler?" Frazier pressed on.
"I'm going to literally walk about of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan's taking a hit [out] on me," Levy answered.
For months, there have been rumors about the pop superstar joining MCU as Dazzler. In November 2023, Reynolds, who played the titular role in the anticipated movie, was asked the same question and gave the same response as Levy.
"Yeah, I've heard that one," Reynolds told Vancouver Sun about the rumors that Swift, his wife Blake Lively's close friend, might appear in his film.
"I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26."
Swift has been spotted on several outings with Lively, and at times, Reynolds would join them. There is no question about the billionaire's closeness to Lively and Reynolds. Swift even used the names of their three children in one of her songs.
Swift's "Betty" from her "Folklore" album is named after the celebrity couple's 4-year-old daughter. The same song mentions the names of Betty's sisters -- James, 9, and Inez, 7.
Last year, during Swift's show in Philadelphia for her "The Eras Tour," Reynolds and Lively's kids were there, and the singer acknowledged them before she performed "Betty."
"I named the characters after real people in my life who I love more than anything. And their names are James, Inez and Betty," Swift said before the performance and proceeded to look in the girls' direction and appeared to mouth, "Hi, James! Hi, Inez," USA Today reported.
