Ex-Adult Film Star Emily Willis Wakes Up From 2-Month Coma, But Still In 'Vegetative State'
Emily Willis is exhibiting signs of recovery following a medical episode that resulted in her being placed in a vegetative coma earlier this year.
According to TMZ, Willis, known for her role in the 'Divinity' (2023) produced by Steven Soderbergh, is reportedly awake and responsive after a two-month coma.
Although still in a vegetatibe state, the 25-year-old has shown signs of awareness by tracking movements with her eyes and displaying emotions such as smiling during interactions. However, her stepfather, as quoted in the latest report, indicates that medical professionals do not anticipate further improvements in her condition.
The latest development involves plans to relocate Willis to a facility closer to her family, where she will receive ongoing care. TMZ notes that the cause of her condition, characterized by a cardiac arrest, remains unknown. Early toxicology screenings revealed no evidence of drugs, contradicting initial speculation of an accidental overdose.
Willis' family has refuted rumors surrounding her hospitalization, addressing misinformation following the incident. In a statement on a GoFundMe page in March, her brother clarified that assertions of an overdose were inaccurate, based on information provided by medical professionals and the family.
During the same update, Willis' family disclosed that she was battling for her life while in a vegetative coma, emphasizing the urgent need for funds to cover escalating medical costs. Originally aiming for a fundraising goal of $60,000, the campaign has exceeded expectations, surpassing $70,000 in contributions.

"Emily was receiving the treatment and help she needed at the time of the incident to overcome her struggles," Willis' brother states. "She retired from the adult industry nearly two years ago and had aspirations of success in other fields of entertainment. Those who worked with her in her new career path knew she had the potential to achieve her dreams."
