Halle Bailey Says She Suffered From ‘Severe, Severe Postpartum’ After Giving Birth: 'Trying Not To Drown'
In a candid Snapchat, Halle Bailey is giving her fans a vulnerable look into her current life dealing with postpartum depression, three months after becoming a first-time mother.
Bailey announced in January that she welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Halo, with her boyfriend DDG.
'The Little Mermaid' actress told her followers online: "I have severe, severe postpartum," according to BCK Online.
"I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out," the 24-year-old confessed.
"And I do think there's a little bit of a stigma when you hear about people talking about postpartum," the "Angel" singer added. "Now going through it, I feel like it feels like you're swimming in this ocean that's like the biggest waves you've ever felt, and you're trying not to drown."

The singer, who is a part of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her big sister Chloe Bailey, went on to describe how the changes in her body have affected her.
"I feel like a completely different person when I look in the mirror," Bailey said. "I just feel like I'm in a whole new body, and I don't know who I am."
Despite her struggles to readjust after becoming a new mom, Bailey praised her boyfriend for being the best father.
"You all know that Halo has the most amazing daddy in the world," she said. "Moo Moo is just the perfect dad to him. He loves him so much; he's so present."
Bailey continued: "I couldn't have asked for a better person to have a baby with."
