Woman Who Sent Harry Styles 8,000 Cards In A Month Pleads Guilty To Stalking, Sentenced To Jail
A woman who sent thousands of greeting cards to Harry Styles admitted to stalking the singer and has now been sentenced to 14 weeks in jail.
According to officials, Myra Carvalho mailed the "As It Was" singer 8,000 cards within a month timespan. On Tuesday, Carvalho was sentenced in Harrow Crown Court, Sky News reported.
The BBC reports of the 8,000 cards sent, some were wedding cards and two of the letters were hand-delivered to Styles' home, according to prosecutors.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to stalking involving serious alarm or distress. She was also hit with a 10-year restraining order strictly prohibiting her from contacting the former One Direction singer, the Crown Prosecution Service told NBC News in a statement on Friday. Carvalho must also stay clear of northwest London where Styles, 30, lives, and cannot attend any event where he appears or sings.

She must also pay a victim surcharge of £134, which equals $166.03 in US dollars.
An insider told the Daily Mail how "Harry was really shaken up. He had spent the start of the month in Anguilla with Taylor and James Corden and he'd had a great break." They continued: "This happened not long after he had come back. Harry just wants to carry on as normal, but this has been concerning."
This isn't the only time the Londoner has had run-ins with a stalker.
Styles testified against another stalker who had camped outside his UK home in 2019.
"Until that point, I never felt unsafe or uneasy in my own home," Styles told the court.
26-year-old Pablo Tarazaga-Orero was ordered to undergo rehabilitation and to stay at least 250 meters from Styles.
