Katy Perry Thanks Elon Musk For Cybertruck Delivery Amid Tesla's Recall; Fan Warns, 'Check The Gas Pedal First'
Katy Perry was visibly proud after receiving her new electric vehicle (EV), but her fans were not as thrilled with her new Cybertruck, based on their reactions.
Perry recently shared a snap of her posing beside her new Cybertruck from Tesla on X, formerly Twitter. In the snap, Perry was glammed up in her maroon outfit with matching opera gloves and black stiletto heels. The "Roar" singer gave Tesla CEO Elon Musk a shoutout for delivering the product.
"Thx for the delivery @elonmusk #idol," Perry wrote in the caption.
However, the post raised several eyebrows and prompted concerned fans to warn her about the EV due to the ongoing recall.

"Make sure to check the gas pedal first, Katy," one commented.
Another added, "Katy, make sure that the foot-operated levers used for accelerating 'pedal' is fixed before driving this truck."
"Katy. Don't press the gas pedal or there will be Fireworks," a different person warned.
Many also pointed out to Perry that the vehicle had been recalled. So, they wondered why she still accepted it.
"Imagine getting one delivered the day of the recall," one commented with a crying face emoji.
A different netizen added, "Katy, it has been recalled."
"And then boom, it was recalled!" a third person remarked with a face with hand over mouth emoji.
"Isn't there a recent recall on the cybertruck?? Better hope yours was fixed," another commenter said with a smirking face emoji.
Meanwhile, Musk seemingly ignored the recall issue in his response to Perry's post.
"Looks good," Musk commented.
Also, many voiced support for Perry. Some welcomed her to the Tesla family, and one even suggested for her to use it in her music videos.
"Congratulations, Katy Perry. Check this out. It will help you a lot," one said while sharing a clip of a woman giving a 1-minute review of Cybertruck.
"Welcome to Tesla fam, Katy," another stated.
"Gotta use the Cybertruck in one of your music videos -- would be great to see the fun, cheery, colorful side of Cybertruck," another added.
Tesla agreed to recall nearly 4,000 Cybertruck after a federal auto safety agency said the accelerator pedal of the EV could become stuck, increasing the risk of accidents as it can cause the vehicle to accelerate unintentionally. Tesla began selling the EV in late 2023 and received the first customer complaint on March 31.
After an assessment on Friday, the company voluntarily recalled the affected vehicles. Tesla will replace or repair the accelerator pedals on Cybertrucks without charge, according to the safety agency, the New York Times reported.
