Meghan Markle Knows Prince Harry Reconciling With William, Kate Is A 'Losing Battle': Report
Meghan Markle is concerned about Prince Harry's plan to reconcile with his family, according to a source.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept their distance from the royal family after they left the United Kingdom and settled in California in 2020. However, Prince Harry wants to reconnect with his family after King Charles and Kate Middleton were diagnosed with cancer. Markle reportedly knows she can't do anything about her husband extending an olive branch to his sister-in-law and big brother.
"Meghan knows she is facing a losing battle when it comes to Harry reaching out to Kate and William to try and sort through their differences, but she thinks he's making a big mistake. She obviously feels sympathy for Kate and what she's going through, but in her mind, it doesn't change things," an unnamed source told OK! magazine.
Richard Fitzwilliams, a British PR consultant and royal commentator, recently shared that the King and Princess of Wales' illness is "an enormous game changer" for the family amid their feud. However, the source claimed that, unlike Prince Harry, Markle isn't bothered by her lack of connection with the Prince and Princess of Wales as she is still hurting from the past.
"It would never bother Meghan if she didn't see William and Kate again and sadly knows that there is no relationship between her children and George, Charlotte and Louis. She would've loved that to happen, but the Waleses have made it clear they don't want it," the source continued.
"But she knows deep down that Harry wants to fix the relationship, and the Kate news has made him more determined to try and do it. But she thinks Harry is being naïve and that he still can't trust William. She's terrified he'll be made a fool of again and William will use him. She knows she makes better decisions than Harry as she won't let her emotions rule her, but she fears she's losing control over this situation."
Tom Quinn, a royal commentator and biographer, previously weighed in on how Markle was feeling after learning about her sister-in-law's cancer diagnosis. The "Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle" author claimed that Markle was surprised, but Middleton's health battle wasn't enough for her to patch their "poisonous" relationship.
"Kate's cancer diagnosis has been a real shock for Meghan, but she can see no way to patch up the relationship simply because it has become so poisonous," Quinn told the Mirror. "She also doesn't want people saying that she is trying to make things up with Kate just because Kate is ill. Meghan still feels Kate was in the wrong and should apologize before they try to build bridges."
